- 2000 Jun 2026 God's Hands For two decades, Japanese amateur archaeologist Shinichi Fujimura was called 'God's Hands' for his uncanny ability to discover Paleolithic artifacts. He planted artifacts at over 180 sites, pushed Japanese prehistory back 700,000 years, rewrote school textbooks, and was national front-page news. In November 2000, the Mainichi Shimbun caught him on hidden camera digging holes and burying his own 'discoveries.'
