Hislop is the ur-case for the modern conspiracy-demonization pipeline: take a real ancient civilization, strip its context, rebuild it as a unified satanic system, weld it to a contemporary enemy, and publish. The downstream is enormous — “Easter = Ishtar,” “Christmas is Babylonian,” the Nimrod-as-NWO-founder ecosystem, and the “ancient Babylonian mystery religion” motif that still surfaces in QAnon. All of it traces to a Scottish minister who never read cuneiform.

The coda is Ralph Woodrow: he popularized Hislop (250,000+ copies of his own Hislop-based book), discovered Hislop was wrong, retracted it, and published the demolition — The Babylon Connection?
